I get a lot of pitches from consultants and expected to scan Are Your Technical People Giving Away Your Million Dollar Secrets? in few minutes and find the usual mixture of aging statistics, well-rehearsed clichés, and self-serving suggestions (like, "Hire me.") 
 To my great surprise -- and delight -- I found the information new, unexpected, and fresh. In fact, I couldn't put it down. I read it all the way through in one sitting, to the great detriment of the deadlines I should have been working on.
